Just about one or two decades ago, we would've laughed anyone off who'd say that we will be editing our text documents in the browser one day. And even if we believed him or her, we would‘ve never thought that a web app could replace native programs for many people and companies. Yet here we are today with Google Drive, which barely stands still and continuously receives new features – just like this Thursday, when the company announced the addition of new formatting tools, including the option to adjust page margins per section and page breaks.

I can't imagine having to navigate today's world while visually impaired. From streets to people to items, and even trivial things like preparing a sandwich or knowing the proper toilet sign in a restaurant, it would all be infinitely more difficult without sight, and I have a lot of admiration for those who have to handle these situations every day.

Browser extensions have always been a two-edged sword. On the one hand, they offer invaluable services to power users by enabling them to customize their web surfing experience as needed, but on the other hand, I still remember the toolbars of old and how some more regular users added dozens to their browsers, bugging down their machines. Many people don't even know that they've installed them, as they're offered with deceptive tactics.

Last month we reported the Play Store was about to get a design overhaul, including a new navigation bar that moved to the bottom of the screen. Although this could only be activated by fiddling with feature flags when we published our initial post, Google is now widely rolling out the new interface to users.
As expected, the new design elements feature more rounded edges and a new navigation bar that's now at the bottom of the screen.

The $26 billion Sprint and T-Mobile merger has been through a regulatory rollercoaster in the past several months. The pair had thought they could push through the transaction while preserving all of their spectrum and wireless service brands — but even with favorable political conditions, this didn't prove to be the case. This past week, we learned that the two have promised the FCC that they would sell prepaid carrier Boost Mobile and that the Department of Justice would require the two to divest enough spectrum to create a tenable "fourth carrier" replacement.

When Google bought Waze in 2013, a lot of people expected some of the application's key features would make their way into Maps. Although the company stated both development teams would remain separate, we started seeing some integration a few months later, as the Israeli company's traffic and incident reports were available to Maps users.

Sprint has launched its mobile 5G service in four cities — but unlike the short-range millimeter wave networks AT&T and Verizon have already turned on, this is the nation's first taste of 5G on mid-band spectrum in its coveted 2.5GHz band. All told, it covers more than 1,100 square miles and a population of nearly 3.6 million people.
The carrier says that it has deployed its Ericsson dual-mode 5G/LTE Advanced radios at its existing cell sites and has highlighted certain focus areas in each of its first four metro areas:

After banning U.S. exporters from supplying product to Huawei, the Department of Commerce has put a hold to that ban for 90 days. But in some cases, the damage done to that company's supply chain relationships remains — most of the chip and software vendors that pulled away have stayed away. That said, the Chinese tech manufacturer remains a partner with Google in delivering the Android Q Beta program to its constituent developers.

Speaking to a source familiar with the company's plans, Android Police has learned that Samsung will likely begin its wind-down of the headphone jack - and even physical keys for functions like volume and power - with the Galaxy Note 10. The Note 10 will have no 3.5mm connector, and exterior buttons (power, volume, Bixby) will be replaced by capacitive or pressure-sensitive areas, likely highlighted by some kind of raised 'bump' and/or texture along the edge (i.e., a faux button).

Motorola has announced a new Moto Z phone, marking the fourth generation of devices with the same Mod connector. The new phone works with last year's 5G Mod on Verizon, but that's not the only new way to get 5G. Motorola also confirms that the Z2 Force will work with the 5G Mod soon.
The Z2 Force launched in 2017 running a Snapdragon 835, but it has the same Moto Mod connector as the latest Z-series phones.

This may shock you, but the Moto Z4 is the latest phone from Motorola. Yes, you probably already know that after Amazon accidentally launched the phone early, but it's official now. This device represents the merging of the Z and Z Play lines with its Snapdragon 675 SoC, a step down from the 800-series chips used in past Z-series phones. There's a strong Verizon tie-in here, but it's not exclusive to Big Red.

Last year's Asus Zenfone 5Z was an excellent phone with great hardware and an even better price point. The Zenfone 6, however, takes everything its predecessor did well and ups the ante with a wholly original design, powerful hardware, and a motorized flip-up camera, all while starting at $499 like the 5Z.
This all-screen beauty represents the greatest that 2019 has to offer, even sporting the absolute best version of ZenUI yet, a back-to-basics, "stock+" Android experience with Asus's own tweaks and modifications.

I've been a huge Dropbox fan since 2009 and never even considered switching to another solution ever since. Back then, I was using a Linux netbook at school and needed to sync my files and notes back to my "actual" computer, and Dropbox was one of the very few cross-platform solutions available back then. Today, I still need to access my files across devices, but even though there are many more options on the market, I really enjoy Dropbox's advanced features, especially because they keep getting better.

Ever since Lenovo snagged Motorola, it has become a very different company than it was under Google. While the original Moto X was all about perfectly matched hardware and software, the newer high-end Moto Z phones have something else up their sleeves – Moto Mods, which can be snapped on the back of the devices to extend their functionality. The latest model in this line is the Moto Z3 Play, and we've found a deal for you: currently, the Amazon Prime exclusive version of the phone is available for $329.

T-Mobile and Sprint still haven't sealed the deal on a possible merger, though not for a lack of trying — approval from government regulators is the last major hurdle. T-Mobile has already promised not to raise prices for a few years if the deal is approved, but the U.S. Justice Department reportedly still isn't on board. Supposedly, the Justice Department wants the combined T-Mobile/Sprint to create a new fourth carrier, with its own dedicated network.
