Depending on where you live, you could be just days or entire months into quarantine as we try to bore the novel coronavirus out of existence. Too bad the quarantine's doing the same to us, huh? Well, if you find yourself creating Bitmoji scenes, building wooden block towers to pass the ages, or even looking at tigers and other animals in 3D space, you might want to fit in some playtime with some AR emoji or "Playmoji" as Google calls them.

We're only two weeks away from the unveiling of the latest OnePus flagship phones, which means the company's marketing machine is full flow in order to stoke anticipation for the launch. In a post on the official OnePlus forum today, some key specs have been confirmed including the Snapdragon 865 processor from Qualcomm, UFS 3.0 storage, and LPDDR5 RAM.
None of this comes as much of a surprise, in part because we expect a flagship phone in 2020 to have these features, but also because recent leaks have already pointed to such specifications — it's difficult to keep anything under wraps these days in the smartphone industry.

Cloud technology has enabled our smart devices to connect and exchange information in ways that weren't possible a decade ago. Unfortunately, most of these services store your personal information on server farms in unspecified locations, raising questions about security and reliability. The only way to ensure your data's safety while also enjoying the benefits of the cloud is to have your own private cloud network. In recognition of World Backup Day, you can win a Synology DiskStation DS220j with two 14TB Seagate IronWolf HDDs, together valued at $1,050.

Five months in, Stadia is, ever slowly, packing its library with more and more quality titles. With the release of Doom Eternal earlier this month, the platform hit a major milestone: its first major AAA game to launch day-and-date with PC and consoles. Should you be lacking the local hardware horsepower to bust demon skulls but you're reluctant to stream a game as notoriously fast-paced as Doom, I'm happy to report that, if your network is up to snuff, Eternal runs wonderfully on Google's cloud platform.

Ever since the Galaxy S10 line came out rocking a hole-punch camera, inventive developers have taken it upon themselves to put the unsightly cutout to several clever uses. While some silly wallpapers made you giggle by artistically hiding the hole-punch, others turned out to be functional with some actual use — like Energy Ring, which recently released an app to add a battery indicator around the Galaxy S20’s front camera.

Netflix’s nearly global footprint dwarfs Disney+, but the five-month-old streaming service is filling the gaps rather quickly. While the service went live in North America, the Netherlands, and parts of Australasia in November, it’s set to reach more countries in Europe and Asia later this month. Ahead of its March 29 release in India, the entire Disney+ catalog has already gone live on Hotstar—the largest streaming service in the South Asian market by user count.

To give parents peace of mind while their children are listening to music, Spotify is introducing a separate app for younger users. Only hand-picked, kid-friendly audio content will be available through the new app, whose bright and colorful UI with oversized buttons will make it easier for little ones to explore.
Spotify Kids is launching in beta and is only being made available in Ireland, to begin with, before coming to more countries later on.

We're supposed to stay inside right now, but that shouldn't stop us from exploring things we'd normally see in museums or shops thanks to 3D models available in Google Search on Android and iOS. We've already covered which animals and pets you can lure into your home, but if you and your kids get tired of acting as an amateur zoologist, there is a whole world to explore, starting with planets and space crafts courtesy of NASA over anatomy all the way to shopping for shoes.

Last week, Google Podcasts received a revamp on Android along with a new iPhone app, but one of the changes that we didn't explore affected the web interface. It's still not on par with the mobile client, but at least it now offers subscriptions and sorting.
We got the first hints at Google Podcast's web interface last year, but the proper website didn't launch until last month. It merely acted as a directory, though, and didn't sync your subscriptions with the mobile app.

Google announced that it was bringing AR objects to search during I/O last year and since then it's steadily added new animals to the roster, as well as expanding the list of eligible devices. Now that a lot of people, myself included, are in lockdown, bringing a taste of the outdoors into your living room may just help you keep your sanity. Let's take a look at some of these AR animals, as well as what you'll need to enjoy them.

Google is no longer selling the Pixel 3 and 3 XL, its pair of 2018 flagship phones. Both devices were removed from availability today on the Google Store, and we have confirmed with a company spokesperson that it has sold through its inventory, and that sales for the phones have completed.
The previous product listing for the Pixel 3 at the Google Store now redirects to the store homepage, and the product carousel/ribbon there no longer lists the Pixel 3, either.

Ever since we've been asked to work from home, I've received a bunch of messages from my friends and coworkers asking me about home workout apps to stay fit. Instead of privately sharing my recommendations with them, I preferred to make them more widely available here. I've chosen ten apps from the Play Store that are highly-rated and can help most people continue to exercise while confined, including cardio, body weight, and high intensity training.

In many ways, the Galaxy S20+ is the perfect fit for most users. Its size places it directly between the smaller S20 and the hulking S20 Ultra, while its beefy battery and gorgeous edge-to-edge display make it a worthy handset that you'll never want to put down.

The Galaxy S20 series is incredibly expensive, with the S20 Ultra starting at an eye watering $1,399. When you're carrying something that cost more than my first car in your pocket, it's important to keep it safe. Glass sandwiches may look beautiful, but that beauty can easily be obscured by scuffs, scratches, and cracks. The best way to prevent that from happening is by using a skin or case to protect your precious new phone.

Not all phones with a stylus are created equal: Samsung's Galaxy Note series support active pens; the recently-launched Moto G Stylus does not. A part of that function is due to their price gap, but you wouldn't think that phones that don't come with complimentary styluses would also have digitized displays. Well, the LG V60 comes with not one, but two small surprises in that aspect.
Buried down at the very end of the complete spec sheet LG provides for the phone is mention of active pen support.

Microsoft Teams is the company's version of Slack or Hangouts Meet: a room-based messaging platform intended for use by large organizations. It has grown rapidly since its introduction in 2017, and now Microsoft wants regular folks to use it, too.
It was announced today that Microsoft Teams will soon include more consumer-focused features, which should come to the iOS and Android applications in the coming months. Families will be able to talk in central group chats, as well as share photos/videos/other files with each other.

Welcome to Monday, everyone. It had looked like things were finally calming down last week, and then I was greeted with a wall of Android app sales this morning. Most notably, the open-world RPG Cat Quest is currently available free of charge, so make sure to snatch this title before the giveaway ends in 4 days. I would also be remiss if I didn't mention the sales for FBReader Premium (a quality eBook reader) and Thimbleweed Park (a fantastic point and click adventure game), but of course, there are plenty more sales worth checking out in today's list.

As we edge closer to the release of the OnePlus 8, leaks are becoming floods, telling us almost everything there is to know about the phone. We've seen everything from the specs to the color options it'll be available in. Now, over the weekend, a OnePlus 8 Pro was spotted in the wild on a Chinese subway, giving us blurry confirmation as to the design.
The case may obscure the color and other details of the device, but it doesn't hide the cameras.

LG's smartphone division has performed poorly for years, and discarding the usual yearly release cycle didn't help matters much. According to Korean news site Naver, LG is planning something a bit more drastic — ending the 'G' product series that the company has used since the 2012 LG Optimus G.
The report from Naver states that LG is discontinuing the 'G' brand, though it's not clear what impact that will have on the hardware direction.

It looks like we're going to see two flagship smartphones launch as part of the OnePlus 8 series on April 14. The Chinese company was previously expected to add a mid-range ‘Lite’ handset to this mix, but it sounds like this has been deferred to a later date. The OnePlus 8 Lite is now rumored to come out as the OnePlus Z — succeeding the five-year-old OnePlus X, which wasn’t received all that well at the time.
